Successful Ladies Weekend in Pretoria

The World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend is a global gathering, where girls get to try out hockey as a new sport. SAIHF put on a brilliant show of SA ladies ice hockey over this special weekend in Pretoria.

The weekend included a 3 team Inter Provincial Tournament, to decide who the national champions would be. Gauteng took first place, Western Province finished second and the Coastal team, third.

This was followed by multiple camp trainings, some extremely competitive games and a recruitment day where new girls got a chance to be on the ice with some of the National team members for a fun practice.

Pictured here are some of the top performers from each team, as well as the winners of the respective tournament awards.

Take a look at our facebook page for more pictures from the weekend.

StarZone comes to South Africa

SAIHF is proud to introduce the CEO of StarZone Sports and skills instructor Thomas Eriksson. Thomas will be  joined us in Pretoria for the first instalment of  what was an extreme learning experience.

The camp, which focussed on skating, power skating and puck handling skills went down very well with the players from Gauteng. The ladies National Squad was also in attendance.

Thomas was hugely energetic and truly amazing at what he does. All camp attendees went home with huge smiles and a wealth of great experiences and know-how. Visit our Facebook page for more info and pictures from the weekend.

Thank you Thomas and StarZone!
